This trend shows women injecting themselves with Lemon Bottle in hopes of reducing their double chin and creating a tighter jawline. In this article, we explain what Lemon Bottle is and talk about proven effective treatments for double chin reduction that we offer in the Netherlands.

What is Lemon Bottle?

Lemon bottle is an injectable that is said to break down fat on the face and body. The product is manufactured by Sid Medicos in Korea and has recently become popular in the Netherlands. According to the manufacturer, the main ingredients are of natural origin, namely riboflavin, bromelain and lecithin. This combination of ingredients is said to help break down fat cells. As yet, there is no scientific evidence that the treatment is actually effective.

Who may treat with Lemon Bottle

Although the videos on TikTok suggest otherwise, people are not supposed to inject Lemon Bottle into themselves. In the Netherlands, there are strict rules regarding reserved procedures such as injecting a product with a needle. This means that Lemon Bottle may only be administered by doctors, physician assistants and nursing specialists. They are allowed to do this within their area of expertise. Self-injecting Lemon Bottle or other products is unsafe and we strongly advise against it.

Is Lemon Bottle safe?

Because the product is promoted as “natural,” Lemon Bottle appears to be a very safe product. No serious complications have been reported (yet), but in any case, the use of Lemon Bottle is strongly discouraged in two situations;

• If you have to undergo surgery within two weeks of Lemon Bottle treatment, because there is some concern that bromelain could affect clotting.
• If you are allergic to pineapple, because bromelain is an enzyme derived from pineapple and thus can cause an allergic reaction.

Proven effective treatments double chin

Fortunately, there are very good alternatives to a Lemon Bottle treatment. At Ivy clinics, we specialize in liposuction and lipolaser under local anesthesia. We have been successfully performing these treatments for years for reducing fat under the chin and tightening the jawline.
