Reimbursement skin therapy

There are several health insurance companies that reimburse treatments at a skin therapist from the supplementary insurance.
- acne therapy
- scar therapy
- camouflage therapy
- laser therapy for excessive facial hair
The above treatments can be reimbursed from the supplementary insurance. It varies per insurance company how much of the costs are reimbursed. See the policy conditions of your supplementary insurance for an overview of reimbursements.
A skin therapist has been directly accessible since 2011. This means that no referral from a GP or specialist is needed to be treated by one for various skin conditions.
Sometimes our skin therapist may send you back to the family doctor first or additional information may be needed to start treatment. Also, sometimes the health insurance company may ask for a referral from a family doctor or specialist before they proceed with reimbursement.
So take a close look at your health insurer’s policy conditions to see what requirements there are for reimbursement for skin therapy treatments.
