Making an appointment can be done in many different ways. After all, Ivy clinics wants to make it as easy as possible for you. You can choose from:
If you can’t find a suitable spot in the online calendar, don’t hesitate to call, chances are our schedulers will be able to help you.
Ivy clinics offers a very wide arsenal of treatments from low-volume facials, skin therapy treatments such as lasers and peels, injectables such as botox and fillers and surgery such as eyelid surgery, liposuction, lower chin tuck and much more. Look for an overview under the treatments heading.
Ivy clinics is in Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Den Bosch, and Westervoort (near Arnhem). The About Ivy heading has info on parking and a sneak peek at the various clinics.
Cosmetic physician KNMG is a protected title indicating that you are registered in the KNMG register of the doctors’ federation. This basically means that you are proven qualified and competent to perform injectables in a safe manner.
To obtain this title, you must complete a two-year training program in which you also obtain sufficient numbers. During this training you are already working but under the supervision of a trainer. Ivy clinics is a training clinic which means that we have one or more doctors in training every year. In this way we help to create and maintain a safe working field within cosmetic medicine.
There are several clinics in the Netherlands that are very good and Ivy Clinics is one of them. We work with well-trained doctors, we have a quality manager who keeps a close eye on everything related to quality by organizing internal and external audits, among other things.
All our equipment is inspected annually. And of course we also attend regular training, refresher courses and conferences both at home and abroad.
Most treatments are not completely painless. However, we always try to offer the treatments as painless as possible by applying anesthetic cream or other forms of sedation, for example.
Before any treatment, everything is discussed with you first so you know exactly what to expect. And in some cases we recommend pre-medication. This can be painkillers like paracetamol or a pill that makes you relaxed and less anxious.
Almost all treatment involves risks, but in most cases these are not very great. This is extensively discussed with you in advance. You can also find this information on the website under the heading risks in advance of each treatment. Through our way of working, quality management and well-trained practitioners, risks are reduced to a minimum.
Click here for an overview of all our prices per group. If you can’t figure it out, we are of course happy to help.
For treatments over 1,000 euros, you can apply for financing from Cosmetic Finance. They will assess whether it is safe for you to take on this financing. Note! Borrowing money costs money.
Some skin therapy treatments are covered by health insurance. This includes eyelid corrections. However, with an eyelid correction, the eyelid must hang over the pupil. This is actually almost never the case. Just be sure to check with your health insurance company.
An informed consent form must be signed before undergoing treatment.
A practitioner will first have a conversation with you, note all your relevant medical information, and then you will have time to read through the informed consent form. This will include what treatment you are undergoing, exactly what this treatment entails, how it works, and any risks.
This form must be re-signed each year if you are a returning client.
The AVG form is about the Personal Data Protection Act. As soon as you enter medical information with us, for example during an intake interview, a medical file is created which must be kept for 15 years. To keep this data you have to sign the AVG form. This form must be signed every year if you are a returning client.
Without signing this form, we cannot create a record and perform treatment. This is because we are required to store and retain all information.
Ivy clinics hours vary by location and take place Monday through Sunday. We offer both day and evening consultation hours and are happy to think with you in finding a convenient time for an appointment.
Waiting times vary per doctor, per location and per treatment. If you would really like a treatment before a certain date or during a vacation from work, feel free to let us know, we will be happy to think with you.
After an upper or lower eyelid surgery, it is important to cool down and get some rest for 2 days. After that, it is best to do some quiet work, such as at a computer. However, you should not want to do any heavy work that involves lifting or bending. Also, you will not look very presentable for at least 1 week.
After liposuction, however, it is important to keep moving so that the fluid can be drained away. But this also differs per area. Before undergoing surgery there is always a free and non-binding intake interview. In this interview we discuss in detail what to expect after surgery and how to care for the treated area.
Before you undergo any surgery, you will always first meet with the doctor, practitioner or a consultant. During this conversation, you will be explained exactly what to expect after surgery but also what to do before surgery. We will also discuss with you which medications you should avoid. For any surgery, smoking and drinking alcohol before and in the first few days after the procedure is not wise.
In addition, Ivy clinics offers an app on your smartphone that guides you before and after surgery. And, of course, you are always welcome to call, app or email us. For true emergencies, we are available 24/7 through our emergency number.
At Ivy clinics, we currently only perform surgeries and procedures under local anesthesia. Anesthesia is actually never preferred when it is not necessarily necessary because anesthesia always carries certain risks. In most cases, we work with tumescent local anesthesia. This is a special anesthetic that reduces the risk of bleeding. We are happy to explain all about it in the intake interview.
Injectables is a collective term for injectable agents to address skin aging on the face and body. Examples include botox, fillers, skin boosters and PDO threads. You can read all about all injectables on our treatment pages.
Botulinum toxin, popularly called botox, is a natural protein produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. This protein binds to the receptors of a muscle, temporarily blocking its movement. The signals that the brain sends to the muscle to make it move no longer arrive, so to speak.
Botulinum toxin is a drug whose safety and effectiveness has been amply proven both for medical conditions and for cosmetic purposes such as reducing frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet and for treating excessive sweating, for example.
Hyaluronic acid is something you have naturally in your skin, unfortunately it decreases as you age. If so, it may be an option to administer hyaluronic acid through a syringe to restore volume loss in the face or fill in fine lines or deeper folds.
Hyaluronic acid is very safe (if applied properly!) and for over 20 years it has been the most widely used filler in cosmetic medicine. Hyaluronic acid works about 12-18 months depending on the injection site and depth.
For the treatment with injectables it is better not to take blood thinning medication or drink alcohol. It is also good if you do not have (too much) makeup on during your treatment appointment, as this all has to come off. There is always a chance of bruising and swelling. Do not plan your appointment just before an important appointment or a nice event.
Ivy clinics always works with A-brands whose effectiveness and safety have been amply proven. We always discuss with our clients whether they have experience with other brands and whether they might cause any interactions. With botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid this is never a risk. We do avoid areas where permanent fillers have been injected in the past.
Permanent fillers have been banned by law for several years because they can cause interactions with other agents and can sometimes cause problems years later. Ivy clinics has never worked with permanent fillers since its inception in 2010.
Anyway, it is always good to protect your skin in the sun all year round. Even on darker days, your skin needs protection from UV-A radiation. UV-A radiation causes skin aging in the form of wrinkles, pigmentation spots and the like.
After most invasive skin treatments, it is not only important but mandatory to protect your skin every day with a good cream with SPF in it.
Ivy clinics offers skin improving treatments such as facials, hydrafacial but also skin treatments with a little more impact such as peelings and lasers. Actually, we have a good solution for every skin condition. Think of acne, large pores, unsightly vessels, pigmentation etc.
The skin therapists at Ivy clinics work with almost every peel available. The skin therapist will discuss all the options with you so you can then decide together which peel is best for your skin. We also look at what recovery time best fits into your life schedule. Sometimes you can achieve a lot with peelings with less recovery time if you take a little longer.
The skin therapists at Ivy clinics work with lasers, microneedling, Ulthera, Hydrafacial and PlexR. They will first discuss with you which treatment best suits your situation.
That depends entirely on which treatment is chosen. It is important to discuss together which treatment fits into your life schedule. Recovery time is always an important part of conversation when it comes to cosmetic treatments of any kind.
It is best not to use harsh creams before a skin treatment at home. There are also treatments where it is important that the skin is not too sun tanned. The skin therapist will discuss this with you during an intake interview.
Ivy clinics works with many different brands such as Me-Line, Skin Tech, Synergy Skin and emerginC, among others.
