What are coarse pores?
Large pores are skin pores that are enlarged and therefore more visible. Pores are the openings of sebum and sweat glands in the skin. In most people, they are barely visible, but in oily or combination skin, they can become larger and more noticeable. Large pores are most common on the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. Although they are not a medical problem, they can be cosmetically disturbing. The appearance of coarse pores cannot be completely prevented, but at Ivy clinics we can certainly reduce their visibility and improve skin texture.

- Excessive sebum production – increased risk in oily skin.
- Clogged pores – due to dead skin cells, makeup or improper skin care.
- Acne and scars – inflammation can permanently stretch pores.
- Genetic predisposition – some skin types are more sensitive.
- Skin aging – decrease in collagen makes pore walls weaker, making pores appear larger.
- External influences – such as air pollution or intensive makeup use.
