Because laser hair removal with us is a customized treatment, there are many different options available with the treatment. Below we will therefore explain the global treatment.
In laser hair removal, we target the pigment in a hair. This pigment is called melanin and has a dark color. The laser beam heats the melanin in the hair. This destroys the hair follicle and the hair will disappear and not grow back.
The most we work with is the diode 808nm laser.
This laser is the gold standard in laser hair removal and works best on the coarse and dark hairs. This laser contains five different modes. The difference in this is that one mode gives off more energy than the other. This difference in energy allows us to safely and effectively treat even darker skin types (fitzpatrick V and VI).
For the somewhat lighter and thinner hairs, we used the IPL. These hairs are a little more superficial in the skin and we can better address them through the broad spectrum of the IPL. Furthermore, the IPL works the same as the diode. Again, the melanin is heated and the hair follicle is destroyed.
Then for the somewhat stubborn hairs, we have the Nd:YAG 1064nm. This laser is originally a vascular laser. In this treatment, the blood vessel that provides nutrition to the hair is lasered away. As a result, the hair will no longer be able to grow and will disappear.
During treatment, the treatment area is first completely prepared. This includes disinfecting, marking and shaving the skin if necessary. Then the specialist determines your skin type and the laser is set to your personal settings. After this, a layer of gel is applied to the skin and the specialist begins the treatment.
The handpiece of the laser has a cooling element. This makes the treatment as pleasant as possible. Because of the different types of skins, hairs and positions, the experience is very different for each patient. Often the treatment can be compared to small rubber bands shooting against the skin.
Permanent laser hair removal always requires several treatments. This is because hairs have different growth phases. But at 1 of these phases it is possible to remove the hair permanently. Therefore, on average between 8 to 10 treatments are required.
During the treatment, the specialist will determine your skin type. Based on this, she will set the IPL with your personal settings. A layer of gel is applied to the skin and the specialist treats the skin in a stamping manner. With each stamp, a flash of light is emitted that targets the pigment.
The treatment takes an average of 5-30 minutes and is performed every 4-6 weeks. It takes an average of 1-3 treatments to achieve the desired results. After treatment, slight redness is present for approximately 1-2 days. The IPL laser does not cause any other downtime. Finally, the treatment can be used on the entire body.
A layer of gel is applied to the skin and the specialist treats the skin in a stamping manner. With each stamp, a flash of light or laser beam is emitted that heats the vessel and makes it disappear. Shortly after the treatment, the vessels will be more intense in color and more noticeable. After 6 weeks, the results will be optimal and many vessels will be reduced or disappear.
On average, it takes 1 to 5 treatments to achieve the desired results.
A layer of gel is applied and the IPL handpiece is placed over the skin in a stamping manner. You can expect some heat in the skin which in some areas can be compared to a rubber band pushing against the skin.
Usually a course of 8 treatments is required for the desired results. On average, the treatment is performed once every 2 weeks. The skin will look better and calm down, however, the cause of the acne is not addressed. Because of this, the acne may come back after stopping the treatments. However, maintenance treatments are possible to keep the acne calm and under control.
During the treatment, the skin is treated first with the Nd:YAG laser. This laser hovers an inch above the skin and emits a radiation into the skin. This radiation will feel like heat.
Then a layer of gel is applied and the area is treated with the IPL. This head is moved over the skin in a stampede manner. This can be compared to heat and sometimes a rubber band pushing against the skin.
The skin will be somewhat red after the treatment. In most cases this will go away the same day.
About 3 to 6 treatments are needed to achieve the optimal result. The treatments are performed every 2 to 3 weeks.

Complications can always occur and unfortunately are not always predictable. Ivy clinics is available 24/7 to handle emergency questions and during weekdays we are readily available by app, email and phone.
Nevertheless, it is important to be well-informed about any complications so you know what is involved and when to sound the alarm.

Renaissance is an anti-aging treatment using a laser and IPL. Together, these two techniques address red skin, fine lines, pigmentation spots and a dull appearance. The skin will regain a fresh and youthful appearance.
The MAGMA laser causes the epidermis and dermis to be stimulated and collagen and elastin to be produced. This will improve fine lines, coarse pores and overall skin texture. The IPL will reduce or eliminate diffuse redness and those pigment spots. All without pain and downtime.
About 3 to 6 treatments are needed to achieve the optimal result. The treatments are performed every 2 to 3 weeks.
Do you also suffer so much from ingrown hairs, stinging skin or irritations and are completely done with shaving, tweezing and waxing? Then Ivy Clinics has the solution. Our laser specialists can treat all skin types and remove almost all types of hair permanently.
Our Magma laser features a diode laser that is the gold standard in permanent laser hair removal.
It also contains an IPL which again works better on the somewhat lighter and thinner hairs. And for dark and tanned skin, we have the Nd:YAG laser that can safely and effectively make the hairs on dark and tanned skin disappear.
Permanent laser hair removal requires between 6 to 8 treatments. Laser treatment is performed every 4 or 6 weeks. So ditch those razors, wax strips and epilators and opt for the Magma laser.

Pigment is the skin’s natural protection against the sun. However, Uv radiation from the sun can cause the skin to become damaged and pigment to accumulate in the skin. This causes pigment spots to appear. These brown spots are often very superficial in the skin and we can very nicely flash them away with an IPL.
What can we treat with IPL?
For pigment that is not suitable to treat with IPL, we have other good treatment options such as ME-line or PlexR plasma treatments.
Of course, it is also very important to use the right products at home to get and keep your skin strong and healthy and in this way prevent pigmentation disorders. And don’t forget good sun protection, preferably without chemical filters.
Ask our skin therapist for advice and book an appointment! You can do this online or by phone.
Always wanted to do something about those unsightly “broom ridges” (visible vessels) on the legs or rosacea on the face? Ivy clinics now has the perfect treatment for that. Using the Nd:YAG laser we can laser away many different types of vessels.
The Nd:YAG can be accurately set for both blue and red vessels. The blood in the vessel will absorb the heat from the laser. This will cause the blood in the vessel to clot, shrivel the vessel wall and be broken down by the body.
Shortly after treatment, the vessels will actually turn redder or bluer. This may persist for several weeks after treatment.
What can we treat with the Nd:YAG laser:
On average, 1 to 3 treatments are needed to achieve the desired results. If you are more likely to have a problem with overall facial redness then we also have an IPL treatment that is suitable for that.
In fact, small vessels can be treated quickly and efficiently with IPL. The energy given off by IPL is absorbed by the hemoglobin (the thing that makes the vessels red). The vessels are therefore destroyed and cleared by the body on their own. In most cases, superficial vessels will disappear within 1 treatment. Cherry angiomas, and other vessels are also well treatable with IPL.
Our dermatologists have extensive experience with lasers and can best advise you which laser or possibly a combination of lasers is most suitable for the vessels that bother you. Before you schedule a treatment, it is important to have a consultation. Make an appointment quickly. This can be done online or by phone!

Better known as juvenile pimples. This unfortunately occurs in many people of all different ages. A pimple is caused by a clogged sebaceous gland. These sebaceous glands are mainly found on the face, chest and back. Therefore, these are the preferred sites for Acne Vulgaris. Due to excessive sebum production, androgen hormones and the P. Acnes bacteria, a sebaceous gland becomes blocked and a pimple develops.
Fortunately, through IPL treatments, we can kill P. Acnes bacteria, inhibit excessive sebum production and reduce skin redness.
Usually a course of 8 treatments is required for the desired results. On average, the treatment is performed once every 2 weeks. The skin will look better and calm down, however, the cause of the acne is not addressed. As a result, the acne may come back after stopping treatments.
However, maintenance treatments are possible to keep the acne calm and under control.
