Dorien Wijers
Dorien studied Medicine at the University of Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2010. She then gained experience in Neurosurgery and Orthopedics, after which she ended up in surgery in Germany. She trained as a vascular surgeon in Dusseldorf and Bocholt, which she completed in 2022.
Vascular surgeons work very precisely and, in addition to the well-known varicose vein surgeries, also perform, for example, bypasses on leg vessels to restore circulation in patients with peripheral arterial disease. Working with precision and to the square millimeter has always been in her. Hence, when she decided to pursue another profession in the Netherlands, cosmetic medicine immediately attracted her.
She was the first doctor ever to do the abbreviated training as a Cosmetic Physician KNMG with which she finished January 2025. She also became a specialist in performing upper eyelid corrections.
Dorien believes it is important to be part of a fun team where mutual communication, and patient safety and integrity are paramount.
“What I like most about this profession is that you can give people confidence and what an impact that can have in their lives. You have more time for your clients in the clinic than in the hospital. More time for contact, informing, explaining, coming to a treatment plan together. A holistic approach and a natural result are my priority. Happy clients and nice colleagues make my work fantastic”.
