During the treatment, the skin will first be cleansed. Then the peeling liquid (trichloroacetic acid) is applied to the skin in several layers. This tingles, feels warm, but is not painful. The more layers are applied the deeper the peeling will go.
Depending on your skin condition and what you want to treat, it is important to know how deep the peel should go. The idea is to literally peel off a layer of your skin to get to the problem. For the treatment of a scar, it is important to go a little deeper there for the treatment of getting a beautiful glow.
The action of the trichloroacetic acid creates a chemical reaction in the skin that repels the superficial cells and stimulates the deeper cells. Your skin will flake or even peel as a result.
We always recommend this treatment in a course of three treatments. After all the skins have disappeared, the next treatment can be performed.
After an Easy TCA peel, you must allow for a recovery time. The deeper the peeling the more peeling you can expect. Immediately after the treatment your skin will be red, on day 3, 4 and 5 you will suffer the most from the peeling. It is very important not to pull on the peels, as this can cause scarring.
Sometimes your skin itches and feels tight, this can be somewhat uncomfortable but usually only lasts for 5-7 days. It is important to use only Skintech products during the “down time”, i.e. the recovery time. This is because these are precisely tailored to the skin affected by the Easy TCA peel.
The first 24 hours the skin should not get wet and it is also important not to exercise or go to a sauna. Furthermore, avoiding the sun (4-6 weeks after the treatment) and applying Skintech’s sun protection every two hours. This is actually the most important thing.
The big difference between Skintech’s TCA peel and those of other brands is that it is not dissolved in water. The liquid is composed by adding saponins (this counteracts inflammation) and antioxidants (these catch the aggressive substances). This allows treatment in a safe and very controlled way.
If you strictly follow the post-treatment advice, the risk of complications is very low. In an exceptional case, hyperpigmentation may occur after the treatment or the skin may look red for a little longer. In a very exceptional case, an allergic reaction may occur to the peel itself.
