Clinics in 4 citiesWith powder brows, also called Ombre brows, the eyebrows are completely shaded in. The bottom of the eyebrows are set in tightly and the top is colored in less full, giving you an overflow in the eyebrows. Powderbrows are great for clients who always fill in the eyebrows with a powder or pencil. By the way, this technique is suitable for any skin type. On average, permanent makeup (PMU) remains visible for 1-3 years. It may happen that with oily skin the pigment fades faster, this may require you to come back sooner for a touch-up. Usually a touch-up treatment is recommended after about a year.
With a hairstroke technique, small lines are placed which look just like real hairs. This gives a natural result and is therefore very suitable for clients who do not want striking eyebrows. This technique is also suitable for filling in gaps caused by a scar or when there is less natural hair growing in a certain area. This technique can only be performed with a “dry” skin type, because with an oily skin type the lines can migrate (bleed). Also with this technique, a touch-up is recommended after one year.
An eyeliner can be placed both above and below the lash edges. It is also possible to place half an eyeliner up to the pupil. It is suitable for any skin type.
Please note! Wing eyeliners and shadowed liners we do not set.
Schedule an appointment now for your PMU treatment or stop by first for a free, no-obligation consultation.
During the consultation, Ivy’s PMU specialist assesses the eyebrows or eyelids when it comes to eyeliner. It is examined how to obtain the perfect shape. You will be advised which technique or combination of techniques suits you best.
Of course there is plenty of room to express your own wishes and ask questions about the treatment.
The treatment starts with measuring and drawing the shape that best suits your face. This is done very carefully, following set guidelines. Then the color – of natural pigment – is chosen. We choose the color that best matches your complexion and hair color.
Eyeliner is always done following the natural lash line and does not require delineation.
The skin is then rubbed with a numbing cream. The hairstrokes technique involves using a needle to draw “hair fine” lines in the top layer of skin. These lines are tattooed in the existing hair direction for a natural result. With ombre brows, also called powder brows, the eyebrow is filled with a subtle powdery coloring.
After 6 weeks there is a follow-up treatment. During this treatment it is possible to fill in any light spots. Also if you want more intense eyebrows, this will be realized during the post-treatment.
The first treatment takes about 1.5- 2 hours and the follow-up treatment about 45-60 minutes.
Treatment can sometimes sting and not always feel pleasant. However, in many cases it does not hurt.
Recovery usually takes about 6 weeks. It is best to treat the pigmented skin like a small abrasion. During the first week scabs will form, try not to pick at these and keep the skin dry for a week. After 2 days, you may start using the cream you are given at the clinic and use it for 7 days. Keep in mind that the skin rejects about 60% of the pigment, because pigment is not a body substance. Therefore, you will come back for a follow-up treatment after about 6 weeks (and in any case within 10 weeks).
What you can roughly expect from the healing process:
Day 2-5: the PMU may become thicker and darker, this is normal
Day 5-10: the PMU may reshape or flake, this is normal
Day 10-15: the pigmentation may diminish rapidly making it appear as if the PMU is no longer present, however, this is a normal reaction of the skin
Day 15-30: the color returns, any “empty” spots are filled in during post-treatment
No worries if the healing process is slightly different from the above, this is different for each person. Of course, please contact us if the healing process is seriously different from the above.
In principle, permanent makeup is a safe treatment. Ivy clinics has a license for this which assures you as a client that we work safely and sterile. Unlike a tattoo, the pigments in permanent makeup such as hairstrokes, powder brows & eyeliner go much less deep into the skin.
In tattoos, the pigment is applied deeper than 3 millimeters into the subcutaneous connective tissue. In this layer, the pigments are encapsulated and this process cannot be reversed.
The deeper the pigment, the more the color will change due to the number of skin layers where the color lies. Permanent makeup is applied in the upper layers of the skin, because of this it will fade over time, which is why we call it semi permanent makeup.
It is recommended to have a touch-up done once a year.
The first 72 hours after treatment are the most important, the wounds will not have recovered by then. Make sure your eyebrows or eyelids do not come into contact with water (showering, sauna, swimming, intense sweating).
On average, the wounds are healed after a week but after that, it is important to still follow follow-up care carefully for best results. Deeper wounds heal in 14 to 21 days.
After six to eight weeks, you come back for a touch-up. The color may have lightened 40 to 60 percent by then. Although every person is different, the recovery period will always be more or less as follows:
Microblading uses a hairstroke technique with a blade, the hairstroke technique at Ivy clinics is applied with a small needle which is safer because it causes less damage and scar tissue. Other names are hair-strokes or 3D hair-strokes.
Semi permanent makeup is applied in the upper layers of the skin. Permanent makeup is applied with a machine and often goes deeper into the skin. The hairstroke technique gives the most natural result and is suitable for all skin types.
Ombre and powder brows also give a very natural effect and this technique is also semi-permanent. This is a powdery filling in of the natural eyebrow shape. Sometimes both techniques are used at the same time, for example, when a person no longer has any hair of their own in part of the eyebrows.
The treatment is not completely painless but because we rub the skin with a numbing cream beforehand, the treatment is well tolerated.
You get the best results when your own hair is present, so you definitely don’t need to shave your eyebrows.
Because the hairs are drawn, the eyebrows are very natural and almost indistinguishable from real ones. In the first week the eyebrows are clearly darker in color, this color fades by an average of forty percent.
Semi permanent eyebrow makeup is certainly not just for women. Because the result looks very natural, men also come to Ivy clinics for eyebrow treatment.
It is also a godsend for men with alopecia or after chemotherapy. But also, for example, after an accident such as a burn or scar. But of course also if you just want beautiful, symmetrical eyebrows.
