Scar treatment

Ivy clinics offers many different options for treating scars. There are different types of scars and unfortunately, they cannot always be treated the same way. This also depends on the skin and the type of scar.

The following treatments are offered at Ivy clincs to treat scars: Youlaser MT (CO2 laser), IPL, eMatrix, scar massage, microneedling, PlexR, peels and camouflage therapy. Together with the skin therapist we look at the skin and the scar(s). Then we will be happy to give appropriate advice on which treatment is best for you.

No referral is required to undergo scar treatment. In some cases, scar treatment can be reimbursed or partially reimbursed from the supplementary insurance. Some health insurance companies ask for a referral.

Due to the diversity of treatments and types of scars, the sensitivity of treatment can vary. Often a scar treatment is not painful. A few treatments use an anesthetic cream that makes the treatment less sensitive.

In some cases, a scar may be very adhered or stuck. During a scar massage, the scar is massaged loose which can sometimes be a bit sensitive. During the consultation with the skin therapist it is explained step by step what to expect from the treatment.

The duration of treatment depends on which treatment method is chosen and the size and/or quantity of the scar(s). Most treatments last about 30 to 60 minutes. A scar often needs a lot of attention and time. Therefore, for best results, we recommend multiple treatments.

In some cases, scar treatments can be reimbursed from the supplementary insurance. Check your health insurance policy or ask your health insurance company if the treatment is covered. In some cases you need a referral from the general practitioner.

Acne scars can be treated so that they become less deep and visible. Depending on the skin and wishes, treatment with the Youlaser MT (CO2 laser), eMatrix, microneedling, PlexR or a peel can be chosen.

Ivy clinics offers multiple treatments for burns. Depending on the complaints and wishes, the treatment best suited for the scar is determined. The following treatments can be applied to scars after burns: Youlaser MT (CO2), IPL, microneedling, camouflage therapy and scar massage.

Many people suffer from stretch marks and are not sure how to treat them. Striae are tears in the connective tissue and is therefore quite difficult to treat. Because of this, it is necessary to undergo several treatments and have a lot of patience. Possibly, stretch marks can then become less visible but completely gone is not possible in most cases.

Ivy clinics employ skin therapists who specialize in treating scars. All skin therapists are members of the NVH and registered in the quality register for paramedics. They also take regular training courses to improve their knowledge, skills & quality.
