An earlobe is a fragile piece of skin that can stretch or even tear due to skin aging or an accident with an earring (too heavy).
A split or excessively long earlobe can be cosmetically disfiguring but easily remedied with minor surgery. With surgical earlobe correction, the earlobes are corrected by removing excess and damaged tissue. The earlobe is then sutured so that minimal scarring is visible.
Notice! The doctors at Ivy clinics do not treat tunnels.
Surgical earlobe corrections are performed at the Westervoort location (near Arnhem).
Earlobe correction with fillers
Earlobes become thinner and weaker as you age. This also applies to the earring hole. If you find this disfiguring, you can opt for a safe treatment with a hyaluronic acid filler. The hyaluronic acid provides the production of collagen and elastin. The result is a firmer and more beautiful-looking earlobe.

Surgical earlobe correction
An earlobe correction is a minor procedure and is done under local anesthesia. Before the procedure, photographs are taken for the medical record. The doctor inspects the ear and determines where the incision is needed. The ear is cleaned with a disinfectant. This is followed by anesthesia. The doctor cuts open the marked piece of skin and then sutures the wound edges toward each other using a special suturing technique.
After 8 to 10 days, the sutures are removed. 3 months after the procedure, we will see you again for follow-up check-ups.
Earlobe correction with fillers
The hyaluronic acid is injected directly into the earlobe. After the treatment, you can go home immediately.
